Notes on sexual wellbeing and mental health

Sexual wellbeing is an essential aspect of our mental health. We cannot be truly happy if we do not actively maintain a certain level of sexual wellbeing in whatever mode of life, whether single, married or celibate.

In this note, I share definitions of terms adapted from an article by Kirstin R Mitchell and others entitled 'What is sexual wellbeing and why does it matter for public health?'

Awareness of these notions and talking about them with our partners and significant others in our relationships can contribute to making conscious choices to improve our sexual wellbeing and mental health.

I will further explore the relationship between sexual wellbeing and mental health in a future blog post.
